# Custom Content Types

## Introduction

Custom content types are a way to create your own event, creative work or entity types for optimal data organization.
This is useful when you want to collect particular information about an object, like the competition a football event
belongs to, or which league a club entity belongs to.

This is a powerful feature that allows you to structure your content in a way that makes sense to you and your team.
It also helps your OTT platform users to find the content they are looking for more easily, and gain more context about
what they are viewing.
