When you broadcast a live stream with Motto, you need to send your video and audio data to a destination where it can be processed and be distributed to your audience. An ingest is the destination where you send your broadcasting signal. The ingest consists of at least these components:
  • Ingest URL: The URL where you send your broadcasting signal. For Motto, this is either RTMP or SRT (which you can recognize by the rtmp:// or srt:// prefix).
  • Stream key: A unique identifier that tells the ingest server which stream you are sending. This is appended to the ingest URL, e.g. rtmp://ingest-rtmp.eu.mottostreaming.com:1935/live/f3d397f02fao94685600zo8a6adggfa.
