Introduction

A transaction represents a single payment made by a viewer on your platform. Every time a viewer buys access to your content — whether through a one-time payment or a recurring subscription charge — Motto records it as a transaction. Transactions are closely tied to the offers you have configured. When a viewer selects an offer and completes payment, a transaction is created and the viewer is granted access to the associated content via an entitlement.

Get started

While you can always view your transactions directly with the payment service provider (e.g. Stripe), it can be more convenient to view them directly in the Motto Studio. To do so, navigate to Monetization -> Transactions. You will find a list of transactions on this page, along with a summary of your total revenue and transaction count. You can apply filters to these transactions using the filters icon in the top-left. These filters will apply both to the transactions list and the summarized information.
While this dashboard provides a useful insight in your transactions, it is recommended to rely on the payment service provider’s reporting tools for accounting purposes.
